Jeff Ekhator has spoken publicly for the first time after completing his move from Genoa to Juventus, expressing his belief that the transfer is the correct step for his long-term development.
Juventus moved quickly to secure the signing of one of Europe’s most highly rated young strikers as they continue reshaping their attacking options ahead of the new season. The Bianconeri had reportedly monitored Ekhator for several months, with a number of other Italian clubs also interested in signing him from Genoa.
The move comes at an important time for Juventus, particularly following Dusan Vlahovic’s departure at the end of his contract. The club are continuing to strengthen their attack and view Ekhator as a player capable of adding both depth and long-term quality to the squad.
Juventus Continue Attacking Rebuild
Juventus remain in discussions over a possible move for Randal Kolo Muani as they attempt to build a stronger attacking unit for the upcoming campaign.
Ekhator is expected to provide further competition in forward areas, while the club are also focused on ensuring that the youngster receives enough opportunities to continue his development at senior level.
The Bianconeri believe the striker possesses the qualities required to become an important player in the future and are prepared to support his progress within the squad.
Ekhator Delighted With Move
According to Calciomercato, Ekhator expressed excitement after finalising the transfer and explained why he believes Juventus is the ideal environment for his career progression.
He said:
“Coming to Juventus is the best choice for my career to grow, it’s the right thing : I immediately called my agent and my family, they told me it’s a one-time opportunity.
“I’m a player who primarily attacks deep. In recent years, I’ve also learned to play as a team and keep the ball, and it’s an immense joy to have arrived here: I can’t wait to get started. I’m joining a club that has won so much and is always at the top,” Ekhator adds. “There are many things I still need to improve and work on, but I think I’m in the right team to do it. And with the coach (Spalletti, ed.) I think there’s room for further growth.”
