New Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that the club are actively searching for a new goalkeeper and remains in discussions over bringing Randal Kolo Muani back to the Allianz Stadium this summer.
Juventus are continuing to reshape their squad after failing to qualify for the Champions League at the end of last season. The Bianconeri are determined to strengthen key areas of the team as they attempt to provide Luciano Spalletti with a squad capable of challenging for the league title during the upcoming campaign.
Although Juventus already possess several high-quality players, club officials believe improvements are still required in certain positions to ensure the squad is competitive enough to return to the top of Italian football.
Juventus Prioritising Key Signings
Kolo Muani has emerged as one of Juventus’ primary attacking targets following the departure of Dusan Vlahovic, who has now entered the free market after leaving the club. The French forward is viewed as an important option to strengthen the attack and add further quality to Spalletti’s squad.
Juventus are also evaluating several goalkeepers as they seek to reinforce another important area of the team before the new season begins. The club are expected to continue negotiations in both positions while attempting to balance quality additions with financial discipline.
Carnevali has acknowledged that discussions are ongoing and admitted that securing the club’s preferred targets will not be straightforward given the current demands in the transfer market.
Carnevali Discusses Transfer Plans
According to Il Bianconero, Carnevali confirmed Juventus’ interest in both positions while outlining the club’s cautious approach to negotiations.
He said:
“Kolo Muani and the goalkeeper are two Juventus targets? They’re two key players, but that’s not enough. We need to work calmly. The demands are very high right now, and we can’t afford to make mistakes. Kolo Muani is a possibility; he’s been discussed for a long time. We’re mending relations with PSG; the conditions must be fair and acceptable. Closing these deals is never easy. We know where we want to go, that’s for sure.”
Juventus are expected to continue working on both deals over the coming weeks as they attempt to strengthen the squad before the start of the new season.
