Bologna has reportedly ended their interest in Fabio Miretti, dealing a setback to Juventus, who had hoped the midfielder would move during the current transfer window. According to Tuttojuve, Bologna have now decided to pursue another midfield target instead, leaving Juventus searching for alternative solutions regarding Miretti’s future.
The midfielder has struggled to convince Luciano Spalletti that he deserves a long-term role in the first team, and the Juventus manager is not believed to view him as part of his plans for next season. As a result, the club is prepared to listen to offers and would be open to a permanent departure this summer.
Juventus willing to sell Miretti
Miretti remains one of the most highly regarded graduates from Juventus Next Gen in recent years, and there were significant expectations surrounding him when he initially progressed into the senior squad. The midfielder was viewed as a player capable of establishing himself in the first team and becoming an important figure for the club in the future.
However, despite receiving opportunities, he has so far been unable to fully establish himself under Spalletti. Juventus are therefore considering a sale, with the club aware that moving on an academy-developed player would also represent a financially beneficial decision because of accounting considerations linked to homegrown talent.
