United ramp up pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni
Fresh reports doing the rounds today suggest INEOS officials are planning to fly to the Spanish capital this week to open talks with Los Blancos and gauge how feasible a deal could be for Tchouameni.
He is facing an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu following the appointment of Jose Mourinho, who is preparing for a squad overhaul in the aftermath of Madrid’s back-to-back trophyless campaigns.
The 26-year-old and his counterpart Eduardo Camavinga could well be sacrificed to make way for new additions, and United will be at the front of the queue for Tchouameni if he is indeed made available.

Tchouameni will make firm decision on his future after World Cup
Currently, the player himself will have no say in any talks regarding his future due to his World Cup involvement; he has started three of France’s five matches played and is preparing for a quarter-final clash with Morocco on Thursday evening.
Tchouameni was an unused substitute for the side’s group-stage win over Iraq and their hard-fought 1-0 win over Paraguay in the last-16 on Saturday, so he will be hoping he makes the XI for their crunch tie later this week.
The beginning of 2026/2027 would see the experienced star enter the penultimate season of his contract with Madrid, having signed a six-year deal when he joined from AS Monaco in 2022.
Elsewhere, Brazil’s shock defeat to Norway on Sunday means United can now finalise their acquisition of Ederson, who will travel to England this week to undergo his official medical ahead of a £39m switch from Atalanta.
