Tarik Muharemovic is closing in on a move to Juventus two years after the club sold the defender from their Next Gen team to Sassuolo, with the player now regarded as one of the best defenders in Italy.
The Old Lady always believed he had the potential to become a top player, which is why they included a buy-back clause and a sell-on clause in the agreement that took him to Sassuolo.
Juventus look to bring Muharemovic back
Muharemovic played a key role as Sassuolo secured promotion a year after he joined the club and continued to develop in Serie A last season. His progress is why the Bianconeri believe they must bring him back to Turin.
Fifty per cent of his valuation is reportedly around 18m euros, meaning the defender is valued at close to 40m euros overall. As a result, Muharemovic wants a salary that reflects his current market value and importance.
Wage demands delay Juventus agreement
According to Tuttojuve, the Bosnian is asking Juventus to offer him a salary worth between 3.5m euros and 4m euros net per season before completing the move.
Juventus had expected to pay a lower amount, and discussions over personal terms are now delaying the transfer rather than negotiations between the two clubs.
The Bianconeri view Muharemovic as a valuable asset and believe a defender of his age and ability would cost significantly more than twice the amount they will pay to bring him back.
For that reason, Juventus are determined to complete the deal and secure the return of a player they have continued to monitor since his departure.
The defender’s development has justified the faith the club showed in him earlier in his career, and Juventus now see him as a player who can strengthen their squad for both the present and the future.
However, reaching an agreement over his wages will be essential if the Bianconeri want to finalise the transfer and complete his return to the club.
