Enzo Fernandez revealed he was not thinking about his future after scoring an incredible winner for Argentina against Egypt at the World Cup. The Chelsea midfielder netted an impressive header in the 93rd minute to round off a remarkable comeback after his side had been 2-0 down, and ensured an impact that added an exclamation mark to the Blues' valuation of their star.
Fernandez produced the spectacular moment as his side look to retain the title they earned four years ago and progressed into the quarter-finals as the only team from South America, to book their spot against Switzerland. Even following such a moment, which left Lionel Messi in tears at full-time, the former Benfica midfielder was asked about his Chelsea future.
The 25-year-old was quick to shut down any conversation about what lies in store this summer. It's something that Fernandez only plans to entertain following the World Cup.

"I'm not thinking about my future right no," he said. "I'm here living this moment which is incredible for me and we'll see after the World Cup."
Fernandez admitted on more than one occasion last season that he was interested in the prospect of leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid. While unhappy with their player's approach, the Blues are willing to allow the World Cup winner to depart, providing someone meets their £120million valuation - certainly his latest clutch contribution will not harm that figure.
However, in recent days, Real Madrid released a statement denying that they had made any approach to sign Fernandez. The Spanish giants emphasised their respect for club and player, and refuted information that 'continues to be disseminated that does not correspond to reality'

"In light of the information and statements that have emerged in recent days regarding an alleged interest from Real Madrid C. F. in the player Enzo Fernández, the club wishes to state that it has not made any efforts, either directly or indirectly, aimed at signing the aforementioned player and, furthermore, has no intention of pursuing such an operation," it read.
Fernandez's partner, Valentina Cervantes, has stated she is content with whatever decision Fernandez makes. Speaking to El Chiringuito, she said: "No, honestly, it's fine.
"My son was born in England, and they go to school there, so I'm very happy. Any team is fine with me. Whichever team it is, I'll be fine."
For now, Fernandez is living in the moment after firing his side to victory against Egypt. "I have a mix of incredible feelings," he said.
