Serie A side Juventus remain in the hunt to sign a new goalkeeper and have, so far, struggled to make progress in any moves so far. But this hasn’t stopped them from keeping the pressure on regarding a move for Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez.
The Argentine is currently playing at the World Cup, with Argentina having gone past Egypt last night.
The keeper has been keen on a move to Turin but Aston Villa’s demands haven’t reduced.
**Sky Italia** [reported](https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/2026/07/07/dibu-martinez-juventus-calciomercato-news) earlier today that a meeting was set between new Juve sporting director Ricky Massara and Martinez’s agents over a transfer. The Old Lady wanted to assess the financials of the move before moving forward with discussions with the Villans.
Now, SportItalia [claim](https://www.sportitalia.it/2026/07/08/live-calciomercato-tutte-le-notizie-di-mercoledi-8-luglio-milan-gila-tutto-fatto-como-si-spinge-per-yan-couto/) that the meeting has taken place already and he remains Juve’s first choice target, with Guglielmo Vicario the alternative.
**Juve shouldn’t waste time**
-----------------------------
It feels like the financials of a move for Martinez have constantly been largely difficult. That has been holding up a deal constantly and the Villans are in no pressure to sell the player either.
That is why Juve shouldn’t waste too much time and look to move on soon.
