Ipswich Town Land Brazilian Striker Emersonn

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Emersonn, with the Brazilian striker joining from Toulouse on a five‑year contract running until the summer of 2031. The 21‑year‑old becomes the first Brazilian player in Ipswich Town history and arrives for a record transfer fee, marking a major statement as the club prepares for its Premier League return under Gary O’Neil.

The move continues Town’s growing recruitment reach across Europe and South America, with Emersonn viewed as a high‑ceiling forward capable of developing into a Premier League‑level goalscorer.

A Rising Talent With International Pedigree

His full name is Emersonn Correia da Silva and he started his career with Athletico Paranaense, made his professional debut in Brazil and also played for his country on a youth team basis. He made his way to Turkey and played for Göztepe, which is a first division club in January 2025.

He moved to Toulouse later the same year and netted six goals in his first-ever season in France’s Ligue 1, where most of his goals were crucial, and showed explosive acceleration, direct runs and pressurising opponents.

Emersonn: I Am Very Proud To Sign for Ipswich Town

The Brazilian says joining Ipswich fulfils a long‑held ambition.

“I am very proud to sign for Ipswich Town. Playing in the Premier League is something I have always dreamed of and I know I have picked the perfect club to do that with.”

He promised commitment and energy as he began life in Suffolk.

“I will give everything for the team every time I play and I can’t wait to get started and meet my new teammates as well as the supporters.”

Emersonn will begin training once his visa is granted.

O’Neil: A Young Striker With Real Ability and Potential

Town boss Gary O’Neil says securing Emersonn is a major coup.

“We’re delighted to welcome Emersonn to the club. He is a young striker with real ability and potential who has had plenty of interest this summer, so for him to choose Ipswich Town is something we are very proud of.”

O’Neil added that the Premier League stage is one the Brazilian is eager to embrace.

“I know he is excited to be playing in the Premier League and we’re looking forward to having him with us as we prepare for the new season.”

Ashton: An Exciting Moment for the Club

Town CEO and Chairman Mark Ashton says the signing reflects Ipswich’s ambition and investment ahead of their top‑flight return.

“The signing of Emersonn is an exciting moment for the club. As we prepare for our return to the Premier League we know recruitment will be crucial, with the club investing significantly in this area in recent years in order to bring the best possible talent from across the globe to the club.”

He believes Emersonn fits the club’s long‑term strategy.

“In making Emersonn our first signing of the summer we know we have acquired a young, hungry player with a high ceiling, with more signings to follow as we continue to invest to give ourselves the best possible chance of achieving our goal in the Premier League.”

A Landmark Signing for a New Premier League Era

Emersonn’s arrival signals Ipswich’s intent: young, dynamic, globally‑scouted talent ready to grow with the club. As the first Brazilian to wear Town colours, his signing is both historic and symbolic, a statement of ambition as Ipswich step back onto the Premier League stage.
