Crystal Palace looking to make move for €40m Tottenham flop

Crystal Palace are looking to make a €40m move for Tottenham Hotspur flop Randal Kolo Muani this summer.

Foot Mercato report that Paris Saint-Germain have decided to put a stop to the saga around the striker’s move to Juventus, opening the door to other suitors.

PSG frustrations

The website explains that PSG are tired of waiting for Juventus to get the deal for the striker done, so have taken the ‘thorny issue’ back into the own hands’. They are opening the door to other European suitors.

Randal Kolo Muani is not in their plans, and his unsuccessful loan spell at Tottenham last season was not what they wanted either. The hope had been that Spurs would sign him permanently. Instead, he’s returned to Paris this summer.

He wants to go back to Juventus and they want him, but it increasingly looks like a game of bluff. PSG don’t want a repeat of last summer when both sides ended up bogged down in endless negotiations.

PSG thought a deal for €40m was done at the end of June. But that has now been delayed again, and they want to look elsewhere due to financial limitations in Turin. That has seen PSG take away Juventus’ priority and look elsewhere.

Crystal Palace contacted

They have officially opened talks with other clubs. Several Premier League clubs have been contacted, including Crystal Palace. They, alongside the likes of Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund are already showing interest in the 27-year-old.

Whether either of those sides are willing to spend €40m, remains to be seen. Crystal Palace already spent big on Jorgen Strand Larsen in the January transfer window after all. Any move they make would surely be dependent on Jean-Philippe Mateta’s future.

For now, it appears that they’re being used as a warning shot to Juventus. Raise the funds quickly or PSG will sell Kolo Muani to someone else in the coming weeks.
