After weeks of speculation, Nuno Espírito Santo committed his future to the Irons, and with a change in the setup at the top of the club, all the focus is now on returning to the Premier League.

Of course, relegation meant sales were inevitable, and whilst it was a blow to lose the talented Fernandes, the Hammers have got a massive fee.
That should give the club some wriggle room as they look to bring in new recruits, and Nuno will no doubt be pushing to get players as soon as possible so they can integrate during pre-season.
West Ham considering big-money transfer swoop for Simon Adingra
One player on West Ham’s radar is Simon Adingra, with reports stating the club have already held talks with the Ivory Coast international over a move from Sunderland.
However, it won’t be straightforward, as the likes of Ipswich, Hull, Leipzig and Roma are also interested in the attacker.
With Crysencio Summerville likely to depart, this would be seen as a real coup for West Ham, but the competition for the 24-year-old’s signature shows they have a lot of work to do.

Whilst the sporting project will be important to Adingra, West Ham must be able to compete with those clubs financially if they are to sign the player, and that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
In terms of the transfer fee, Sunderland paid an initial £18m for Adingra, which, even though it’s a big sum by Championship standards, should be in West Ham’s range.
Then, with wages, the former Monaco loanee should also be a realistic option for the Londoners.
We must stress that these are only estimates, but Capology claims that Adingra is on just over £40,000 a week at the Stadium of Light.
Again, that would be a hefty wage for clubs in the second tier, but West Ham are believed to have players on salaries in excess of that, even when you apply the reductions that would be in place following relegation.

West Ham’s financial power means that many expect them to not only win promotion next season, but to win the league.
Obviously, nothing is ever easy, especially in the Championship, but they have a huge pull for a club at this level, and the financial muscle to attract players that many others can’t.
Adingra would be an example of that, as whilst his time at Sunderland hasn’t gone to plan, the level of clubs tracking him shows that he can do better than the second tier.

But, West Ham are a big club, and they will no doubt try to convince the player that regular football is crucial for him at this stage of his career, with the aim of playing in the Premier League again in 12 months.
It would be a big outlay for West Ham financially in terms of a potential fee and wages, but it certainly seems possible, and it would be a great addition for West Ham if they could get this over the line.
