Man Utd have made "very good" offer to £68m midfielder

Manchester United are poised to make multiple midfield signings this summer.

The Red Devils have been busy during the early phase of the transfer window.

They have already reached verbal agreements to sign Ederson and Andrey Santos from Atalanta and Chelsea, respectively, to bolster their midfield.

Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is the next target for United, and reputed AS journalist Jose Felix Diaz claims that a contract offer has already been made.

The Red Devils have proposed a five-year contract to the Frenchman. They have made a ‘very good’ offer, but the 26-year-old has yet to agree on personal terms.

United seem prepared to finalise a contract agreement with the Madrid star before opening formal negotiations with Los Blancos over a potential transfer.

Man Utd waiting for green light from Tchouameni

Tchouameni has been a revelation for Madrid since his initial £68 million switch from Monaco in 2022.

Last season was a disappointment for Los Blancos as they went trophyless, but the Frenchman still impressed with his individual performances under multiple managers.

Tchouameni had a pass completion rate of 92 percent in La Liga. He won almost 70 percent of his duels and also registered two tackles and four recoveries per appearance.

His ball control was exquisite, losing possession on just six occasions per outing. Tchouameni would no doubt be United’s first-choice midfielder if he were to join this summer.

The big question remains whether United can persuade him with their promising project under manager Michael Carrick, who led the club back into the Champions League last term.

United could well be prepared to make Tchouameni their highest earner, but the return of manager Jose Mourinho at Madrid could be a potential sticking point for the Red Devils.

The Portuguese tactician likes to work with elite defensive midfielders who have tireless work rates and could resist the prospect of selling Tchouameni. A deal may ultimately depend on the Frenchman pushing for a departure, as Casemiro and Raphael Varane did in the past at Madrid.
