Crystal Palace have agreed a 'secret' deal to sign Spanish defender Oscar Mingueza, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Eagles have had a quiet summer transfer window so far, with new manager Pierre Sage coming in to replace the outgoing Oliver Glasner, who departed following the Conference League final win when his contract expired.
But the new boss has now sealed the first signing of his tenure at Selhurst Park, after a deal was agreed to bring in the Celta Vigo defender on a free transfer.
Crystal Palace Seal 'Secret' Mingueza Deal
Oscar Mingueza
Mingueza, who has been described as 'phenomenal', is currently a free agent after leaving Celta at the end of last season, and had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.
According to Romano, Palace have now reached a verbal agreement with the defender after talks in the last 48 hours. The south London side viewed the 27-year-old as a 'secret top target', and now all terms have been agreed, with the deal considered to be done.
Mingueza will be the first signing of Sage's tenure, and it's likely that he will come in as part of the back four, with his ability to play as a right-back and a centre-back likely to be very useful to the new boss.
There has been speculation that French defender Maxence Lacroix could be on the move, with a number of top clubs including Chelsea showing a strong interest in his services, while the club are still on the lookout for a potential replacement for Marc Guehi, who departed in the January transfer window.

Huge Summer for Palace
Adam Wharton playing for England vs Albania
While the club need to bring in new faces to strengthen the squad ahead of their upcoming campaign which will include Europa League football, the important thing is for the team not to lose more key stars.
Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to depart after his January move collapsed, as he enters the final year of his contract, while there is strong interest in Adam Wharton alongside Lacroix. Losing them will be a huge blow, but Steve Parish has proven to be a tough negotiator in recent times, which could help.
Mingueza's arrival is a positive for the team, strengthening a weak area of the pitch, and Palace fans will be hopeful it's the start of a busy summer in south London.
