Manchester United look set for a huge cash infusion into their transfer budget this summer, even with the impending £50million signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea. MEN Sport understands the Brazilian is poised to head to Old Trafford this summer, with the 22-year-old set to undergo a medical ahead of signing a long-term contract.
Michael Carrick is set to form a strong midfield pairing, with Santos on course to play alongside Ederson. As things stand, that deal is expected to be announced in the next few days after Brazil's World Cup participation ended, while medical tests are to be checked. There may still be funds available to spend elsewhere thanks to a deal negotiated in 2024.
Mason Greenwood, now on the books at Marseille, is closing on a £34.1m move to Fenerbahce. The deal is expected to go through after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, with the Turkish club increasing their offer and including add-ons to take the deal close to Marseille's £42m valuation, as per Fabrizio Romano.

However, Marseille will have to hand over a chunk of the fee to United as part of the transfer agreement that took him to the Stade Velodrome two years ago. Greenwood departed Old Trafford in a £26.6m move in 2024 after United concluded he could no longer remain at the club.
The academy graduate was suspended by United when he was charged with attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and controlling and coercive behaviour in 2022. The forward denied the charges, which were later dropped, but found himself on the fringes at Old Trafford before he left for Marseille following a season on loan at Getafe.

United are understood to have inserted a sell-on clause in their agreement with Marseille, entitling them to up to 50 per cent of any future transfer fee. That would give them a huge £17m boost to their transfer budget, which will come in handy after handing over £48m up front to Chelsea to sign Santos.
Greenwood's performances have attracted interest from a number of teams across Europe after scoring 26 goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions in 2025/26. Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have all monitored his situation, but ambitious Fenerbahce are at the front of the queue.
While Greenwood previously indicated he wanted to stay with the French club, it appears the club have taken matters out of his hands. Speaking after being named in Ligue 1's team of the season, he said: "This season has sometimes been difficult collectively, especially in recent months, but individually, I think I've had a good season.
"There are some incredible players in this team of the year, so it's nice to receive this trophy. Ligue 1 is a wonderful league. We play incredible matches and, for me, it's one of the best leagues I've played in. I hope I can stay."
