Each passing day in the transfer window presents Liverpool with a fresh chance to bolster their squad. Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna, though he remains the Reds' sole addition heading into the summer so far.
Jeremy Jacquet, who put pen to paper in January, has also officially touched down at the club. Andoni Iraola was present to run the rule over a number of Liverpool players this week at the club's AXA training centre in Kirkby.
He will be keen to hold on to his core players as he familiarises himself with them, while remaining acutely aware that there is still considerable work to be done in the market. One name that continues to crop up in connection with the Reds is PSG's Bradley Barcola.
The latest developments see an agreement reached regarding the Frenchman. However, Liverpool have been informed they will need to part with an eye-watering sum to land the winger.
Liverpool told to pay massive fee
French publication L'équipe have reported that PSG have slapped a staggering £128million price tag on Barcola. Liverpool and Arsenal are understood to be the leading contenders for the winger's signature at this stage.
The report further suggests the 23-year-old could become available should PSG successfully conclude a deal for one-time Liverpool target Yan Diomande, who is thought to have already agreed personal terms with the Parisian side. Working in the Reds' favour is Arsenal's reported interest in Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers.

Should the Gunners pursue Rogers, it could leave Liverpool with a clear path to Barcola. PSG are also understood to be eager to sign Maghnes Akliouche from AS Monaco, potentially providing Barcola with additional incentive to seek first-team opportunities elsewhere.
Nevertheless, it appears probable that even if Barcola is available and interested, the asking price will present a significant hurdle.
Bradley Barcola agreement
Two former strikers have concurred that Barcola could prove a season-defining acquisition for the Reds. Ex-Liverpool forward Emile Heskey believes securing the PSG star would represent a remarkable coup.
Heskey told BOYLE Sports: "Signing Bradley Barcola would be an amazing coup for Liverpool because he provides the pace and directness we've been missing on the left wing. We've been spoiled with Sadio Mané and Luis Díaz, and now we need Barcola to get the fans off their seats again.
"Liverpool looked to have missed out on Yan Diomande to PSG, but that could open the door to Barcola leaving, it would be a statement signing for Andoni Iraola that's for sure."

While former Everton and Man United forward Louis Saha believes Barcola possesses the qualities required to reach the pinnacle of the game.
Saha told Live Football Tickets: "Bradley Barcola is a terrific player. He has already won two Champions Leagues, and he could even win the World Cup over the next few weeks, his achievements for such a young player are staggering.
"He has become a much-improved player over the past few seasons, he gets better and better every year, and he can go right to the very top of football. What Barcola needs is to move somewhere where he is going to be first choice in his position week in, week out. His confidence will improve ten-fold once that happens, and then he will be a way more dangerous player.
"He has enormous potential, and I'm not surprised Liverpool are looking at him. They need a replacement for Mohamed Salah, and Cody Gakpo has looked uncomfortable at times for them out wide. Barcola could easily fill either of those positions."
