Newcastle United away kit for 2026-27 revealed as David Hopkinson strikes £60m deal

Newcastle United are yet to officially announce their away shirt for the 2026-27 campaign.

Adidas are under pressure to deliver after the backlash to Newcastle United’s home kit for the 2026-27 campaign.

The German sportswear giant deviated from the traditional stripes to create a funky black-and-white design. According to the club website upon release, Adidas aimed to “reimagine our classic look with a bold, disrupted stripe pattern” - but the reaction was mixed.

It took the team at NewcastleWorld 20 days to spot someone in the city wearing the new jersey. Thankfully, the upcoming away shirt has received a far more positive reception.

Newcastle are once again set to wear dark blue on away days - which they have done for four of the last five seasons. A navy design with a white and light blue trim draws parallels to the Scotland national team.

Eddie Howe’s men will be hoping to perform better than the Tartan Army - who underwhelmed at the World Cup - once the Premier League campaign begins. OpaLeak have shared images on X of Newcastle’s upcoming away shirt.

NewcastleWorld understands this to be extremely close to the final design. As for the third shirt, the Magpies will ditch their usual “Saudi” of green or white for a sleek purple look next season.

Newcastle United strike £60m deal

As exclusively revealed by The Gazette and later confirmed in a club announcement, Newcastle have struck a lucrative front-of-shirt sponsorship with Knox Hydrate. The hydration drinks company had already agreed to pay £6million per year to be the face of the Benton training ground.

The shirt sponsorship deal is worth around £60million over three seasons after the Sela partnership concluded in May. CEO David Hopkinson said: “Our relationship with Knox Hydrate has absolutely flourished and we are ecstatic to announce them as our principal front-of-shirt partner for the next three years. This is a transformative deal for Newcastle United.”
