If Real Madrid Ever Gave Up on Kylian Mbappé, Liverpool Should Be First in the Queue

Football can be wonderfully unpredictable.

Only a few months ago, social media was filled with claims that some Real Madrid supporters had become frustrated with Kylian Mbappé after a difficult spell, with reports even suggesting large numbers of fans wanted the club to move on.

Whether those reports reflected the views of the wider fanbase or simply a vocal section of supporters, it serves as a reminder of how quickly opinion can change in football.

Because if there is one thing that should never be questioned, it is Mbappé’s extraordinary talent.

One of the Greatest Forwards of His Generation

There are very few players capable of changing a match on their own.

Mbappé is one of them.

His qualities are obvious:

● Explosive pace.

● Elite finishing.

● Intelligent movement.

● Clinical decision-making.

● The ability to produce moments of brilliance in the biggest games.

For nearly a decade he has performed at the highest level for both club and country.

That level of consistency is exceptionally rare.

Every Great Player Faces Criticism

Even the world’s best footballers experience difficult periods.

Lionel Messi did.

Cristiano Ronaldo did.

And Mbappé is no different.

Playing for a club such as Real Madrid brings enormous pressure.

Expectations are sky high, and anything less than perfection can quickly attract criticism.

That does not suddenly make a world-class player ordinary.

Liverpool Supporters Would Welcome Him

Let’s be honest.

If Real Madrid ever decided they no longer wanted Mbappé—a scenario that currently seems highly unlikely—there would probably not be a Liverpool supporter anywhere who would turn down the opportunity to sign him.

Imagine a front line containing:

● Florian Wirtz.

● Alexander Isak.

● Kylian Mbappé.

It would rank among the most exciting attacks in world football.

The Reality

Of course, this is all hypothetical.

Mbappé remains one of Real Madrid’s marquee players and there is no indication that the Spanish giants are looking to sell him.

The financial package required would also place him beyond the reach of almost every club in Europe.

But football supporters are allowed to dream.

And dreaming about one of the world’s greatest forwards wearing a Liverpool shirt is certainly no bad thing.

World-Class Is Still World-Class

Football has a habit of overreacting.

A few poor performances can suddenly lead to questions about players who have already achieved more than most professionals ever will.

Mbappé has nothing left to prove.

He is already one of the defining forwards of his generation.

If, somehow, the impossible ever happened and Real Madrid decided to let him go, Liverpool should be among the first clubs asking the question.

Because players of Mbappé’s quality do not become available very often.

And when they do, every elite club should at least pick up the phone.
