Lucas Perri’s time at Leeds United has been mixed to say the least, but that doesn’t mean an exit will be easy.
The keeper’s agent said he was happy with his client’s progress at Elland Road earlier in the campaign. Sport Witness covered his comments extensively, as Perri was a regular for the club for the first few months.
In the end, the Brazilian managed to play only 16 Premier League games. During the second half of the season, he fell out of favour under Daniel Farke, starting only three times in 2026.
This has led to Torino emerging as a potential destination for the keeper. More details are emerging about the Italian club’s interest.
Perri remains a dream
TorinoGranata report that Perri is of interest to Torino, who see him as a good fit for their keeper’s role. Franco Israel’s future in Turin is uncertain and the Leeds United player is seen as a viable replacement.
A move for Paraguay star Orlando Gill is struggling to take off, forcing Torino to assess options.
However, Perri will ‘remain a dream’ for Ignazio Abate’s side. This is because of financial reasons, with the Whites’ demands likely to be beyond what Torino can pay.
Perri’s own demands are also too high. He currently earns €3m per season at the Yorkshire club and Torino will find it difficult to match that. Only four players at Il Toro earn more than €3m and that shows where they are from a financial standpoint.
Player should look at other options
Before joining Leeds United, Perri was at Lyon and playing in the Europa League. Featuring in European competitions should be his target, if he really wants to leave the Whites.
Torino won’t offer that and financially, they won’t match his current salary.
That should be enough for him to be put off, unless they are interested in a loan. that would help him kickstart his career before seeking another opportunity. Whether Leeds United would be open to that is unclear.
