Middlesbrough sign striker Joseph from Hull City

Middlesbrough have signed striker Kyle Joseph from Hull City for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

The 24-year-old scored eight goals and provided five assists in the Championship last season for the Tigers, who won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Joseph missed Hull's 1-0 win over Boro in the play-off final at Wembley after picking up an injury in the semi-final victory over Millwall.

But he was a key player for Hull, particularly when deputising for top goalscorer Oli McBurnie while the latter was out injured between October and December.

Joseph's departure brings to an end an 18-month spell at Hull, having signed from Blackpool for a reported £2.5m in January 2025.

His career began at Wigan Athletic before he made a move to Swansea City in 2021, where he was sent on loan to Cheltenham and then Oxford United.

"I'm so delighted to sign for this massive club - it's such an ambitious club and I really want to help it achieve its goals," Joseph told the Middlesbrough website.

"I'm an all-action centre forward, but most importantly I want to score goals and help the team win games."

Middlesbrough will aim to end a 10-year wait for Premier League football in the 2026-27 campaign and Joseph becomes the club's second summer signing following the arrival of former Oxford winger Myles Peart-Harris.
