And now 17-year-old Mason has followed suit by agreeing professional terms with his boyhood club, having first joined the club at Under-9s level.

"My family have been a massive help, making sure we all keep going and they’ve always tried to get the best out of us.
"To play with Lewis in a Newcastle United shirt for the first team is one of my ultimate goals. It would be an unreal moment for the family.

“Signing a professional contract is a big moment for Mason and his family and we’re proud of the player and person he’s becoming. There’s plenty ahead of him, and we’re looking forward to supporting that next stage.”
