The latest on Leeds United’s goalkeeping department as clarity over a transfer link emerges
Leeds United’s goalkeeping department looks set to lose another body - but Derby County’s Jacob Widell Zetterström is not understood to be a player of interest.
Karl Darlow ended the 2025/26 campaign as the number one at Elland Road having dislodged £15.6m acquisition Lucas Perri in January.
The 35-year-old was a safe pair of hands as Leeds steered clear of relegation from the Premier League, but is reportedly on the verge of crossing a rivalry divide with a free transfer move to Manchester United.

Derby County goalkeeper link latest
Widell Zetterström has impressed across the last two Championship campaigns with Derby and is among the goalkeepers to have been linked with the Whites.
However, The Yorkshire Post understands the 27-year-old is not a player Leeds are currently interested in.
Plenty can change over the course of a transfer window but as it stands, the Whites do not appear poised to move for the Sweden international.
Leeds United face goalkeeper challenge
The summer window does not close until early September and there is ample time for Leeds to tie up the business they need to. That being said, the Premier League club will be acutely aware of the need to dip into the market if Darlow’s exit is confirmed as expected.

Cairns has proven popular since his return to Leeds in the summer of 2024, although has not yet followed up his 2011 debut with a second senior outing.
