Birmingham City are keen on taking the England under-21 international back after he impressed them last season.
Meanwhile Coventry City are looking at alternative options as they wait on their top target Carl Rushworth.
Birmingham boss Chris Davies has told the Birmingham Mail that he will look at a loan or free agent between the sticks.
And it is understood in the West Midlands that talks over a Beadle return are already under way.
Davies said: “Are we going to have money to invest? It’s probably going to be more needed at the top end of the pitch.
“We’re more budgeting for a free or a loan in the goalkeeper position this season.”

There are suggestions that the Seagulls could ask for £30 million for Rushworth, who was exceptional as Coventry won the Championship title last season.
It is unclear whether that would be an initial fee or include add-ons.
But Albion fans will handle such reports with care, knowing chairman Tony Bloom and deputy Paul Barber are too shrewd to slap a “price tag” on an in-demand player unless absolutely necessary.
They are more likely to wait and see what offers come in – and so far they are known to have knocked back one from Coventry for Rushworth, which was reportedly of £20 million.
Coventry have been eyeing a couple of alternative goalkeepers, most notably Everton understudy Mark Travers, who will want more regular football after playing just two Carabao Cup games last season.
While they will be keen to strengthen, especially in defensive areas, it is unclear how far owner Doug King would go in terms of a fee for a goalkeeper.
But Albion know Rushworth is the man they really want.
The choice of an outright No.1 for next season appears to the most notable of various decisions Albion have to take this summer with their array of goalkeepers.
Bart Verbruggen is widely considered to have enjoyed a good World Cup with Holland and has intermittently been linked with several big clubs.
They must also decide the best next step for young players.
Nils Ramming, their London-born Sweden youth international, is one of them and has been seen in early testing sessions as Albion players return to work.
