Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been on Juventus’ radar.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario is surplus to requirements to Roberto De Zerbi after falling behind Antonin Kinsky in the pecking order.
The Italian international endured an underwhelming 2025/26 campaign, as Spurs huffed and puffed to achieve safety. He underwent hernia operation during the March international break and did not play again. Kinsky deputised very well in goal, making crucial saves in the games against Wolves, Leeds United and Everton.
Roberto De Zerbi has added Martin Dubravka to his goalkeeping ranks in June, and with Kinsky expected to be the new No.1 for the Lilywhites, the club want to offload Guglielmo Vicario this summer. Vicario has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A in recent months. After Inter Milan cooled their interest, the Spurs shot-stopper has emerged as a target for Juventus. He has been added to the Serie A giants’ shortlist.
Fabrizio Romano provides update on Guglielmo Vicario amid Juventus interest
Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez has been Juventus’ primary goalkeeping target, with Vicario viewed as his alternative. This is primarily because Vicario is seen as a more cost-effective option by the Turin club. Now though, the Tottenham glovesman looks to have seen his hopes of joining Juve suffer a big blow, with progress made on the Emiliano Martinez front.
According to transfer news guru Fabrizio Romano on X, the Old Lady have now made direct contact with Martinez’s camp. The Argentine international remains Juve’s ‘favourite’ target ahead of Vicario, even though Aston Villa’s demands are seen as too steep at the moment. Juve plan to negotiate the fee with Aston Villa for the experienced goalkeeper after the World Cup.

Deal depends on Aston Villa request, still seen as too expensive + to be negotiated after World Cup.

This latest update about Vicario’s future will not please the Spurs hierarchy. The Bianconeri’s dream target was Alisson Becker, but they have been forced to look elsewhere after Liverpool blocked his transfer. The Old Lady have switched their focus to Emi Martinez, who is currently on World Cup duty. The Villa goalkeeper is a seasoned campaigner and could solve the club’s problems.
Though Vicario remains an option for Juve if a deal for Martinez fails to materialise, a move to Turin looks unlikely at the moment, and Tottenham will now have to wait for other admirers. The Italian has no future at White Hart Lane, and the club must do everything possible to offload him. If a sale isn’t possible, we’d be forced to go down the loan-to-buy option route.
