Rotherham add two free midfielders, Hull-Boro deal done and Harrogate sale

Kyle Joseph's on-off move from Hull City to Middlesbrough has been completed.

The Tigers had been in a hurry to sell the forward before the end of June to wipe out a £6m overspend in time to avoid breaking Football League rules.

But with Boro’s sale of Hayden Hackney to Everton not completed until later that week, the deal was put on hold.

Joseph's skills give Boro the physical edge they need in contrast to the many technical but not especially clinical forward players they have.

Boro are said to be making progress to sign versatile United States international Max Arfsten, a non-playing member of his country's World Cup squad. Arfsten plays for Columbus Crew, where he played with Aidan Morris.

Jamie Jellis brings plenty of experience having made his senior debut for Aylesbury United as a 16-year-old, and Football League bow with Stevenage at 17.

Now 25, Jellis joins on the back of two seasons at Walsall where he made 80 League Two appearances, scoring six goals.

With fitness issues in that time, he has signed a one-year contract.

The kick-off of the Millers’ August 29 home game against Chesterfield has been moved to 1pm.

Chanse Headman has left Harrogate Town for League One new boys Bromley.

The 21-year-old defender made 16 appearances after joining from Brentford in January, and has left for an undisclosed fee.

Doncaster Rovers centre-back Bobby Faulkner, who impressed on loan at Harrogate last season, is expected to go on loan again to League Two. A number of clubs are said to have shown an interest.

Seamus Coleman (inset) is reportedly training with Sheffield United after the 37-year-old right-back was released by Everton after 374 Premier League appearances.
