Hull City are positioning themselves to sign Mjällby AIF’s Elliot Stroud this summer.
The 24-year-old joined the Swedish club in 2023. He’s played 108 matches so far, mainly as a left wing-back and at times as a left-back and a winger.
Stroud played four matches for Sweden at the World Cup. He has already caught Geno’s attention and Hull City are now looking to sign the versatile player.
Easy route for Hull City
The Premier League side have held direct talks for Lazio left-back Luca Pellegrini. Earlier this week, we relayed news that Ipswich Town have joined the Tigers in the transfer race.
It’s unclear whether this saw Hull City focus on the Sweden international, who is their new target.
Expressen now cover the latest about the English club’s interest and also about Genoa.
There’s been a few claims in Sweden and Italy that he’s on his way to the Serie A side. However, Genoa’s interest has cooled, giving Sergej Jakirović’s side an easy path to sign Elliot Stroud.
Hull City to make advances soon
Hull City
The Sweden international can now get a ‘dream move’ to the Premier League by making a switch to Hull City.
That’s because the Tigers highly value the versatile player, who has convinced them to bet on him.
Expressen now claim the English club will soon make a bid for Elliot Stroud. They don’t specify the fee Hull City will offer or the Swedish club’s request.
Stroud has a contract until the end of this year, and Transfermarkt value him at €8m. This is the highest value of his career and there’s been a €5.5m raise since June 2025.
His contract situation favours Sergej Jakirović’s side to sign him for a price much less than his current value. Mjällby AIF will have to cooperate this summer, to avoid losing him for free in January.
