Reports have emerged that Oliver Glasner’s side are on track to beat Inter Milan to the signature of the 25-year-old this summer transfer window.

Jones had been struggling for game time at Liverpool and had been linked with a move away, with the Tricky Trees looking to make this a reality.

Considering Jones’ experience, the England international will likely be a direct replacement for Elliot Anderson.

The 23-year-old recently completed a £116million move to Manchester City, leaving a big hole in Forest’s midfield.

However, the stats suggest that Jones could be a decent replacement for Anderson.

How do Elliot Anderson and Curtis Jones’ stats compare?

In the 2025-26 campaign, Jones did manage to start in 18 Premier League matches for Liverpool, and made 34 appearances overall in the top-flight.

Luckily for Forest fans, despite Anderson being better in many departments, Jones is never too far behind.

Per 90 minutes, Jones was averaging 0.05 goals, 0.09 assists, a 0.13 xA, 3.21 accurate long balls, 0.98 chances created, 1.03 successful dribbles, 2.38 touches in the opposition box and 1.87 tackles in the Premier League,

In comparison, Anderson averaged 0.11 goals, 0.11 assists, a 0.13 xA, 2.89 accurate long balls, 1.46 chances created, 1.35 successful dribbles, 1.67 touches in the opposition box and 2.81 tackles per 90 minutes.

Therefore, Jones could prove to be a suitable replacement for Forest this season, if Corriere dello Sport’s report is correct.

It was always going to be impossible to sign someone who is just as good as Anderson, considering he is the record British transfer. However, given that Jones is still young, he could one day prove to be just as good.

The Bologna centre-back is wanted by numerous teams, and the Tricky Trees are aiming to win the race.

The Colombia international, who featured regularly in the 2026 World Cup, has a £23.9million release clause at Bologna.

However, this is set to expire on 15 July, meaning any club looking to pay this price will have to accelerate their transfer plans.
