Club considering Nottingham Forest’s offer – Competitor pushing for agreement this weekend

Nottingham Forest have received an encouragement in their pursuit of Joaquín Oso, after Sevilla consider selling him this summer.

The left-back joined the La Liga side for free in 2022 and now has less than a year left on his contract.

His contract situation has caught the attention of Nottingham Forest and a few other clubs.

On July 2nd, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain that the Reds joined the race to sign the 23-year-old. Two days ago, we relayed news of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur battling to sign him.

Sevilla ready to sell Oso

Joaquín Oso graduated from the Andalusian club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2025. Without a renewal, this will be their last window to sell him.

Saturday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla claims the La Liga side are looking to sell him. His sale will benefit them significantly – he’s an academy graduate – especially when they have to improve their finances.

To sum up the situation, the newspaper claims Oso is ‘seen as a gold discovered in a coal mine’.

Sevilla are considering three or four offers that are on the table, including from the Premier League side and Fiorentina. The Spanish club can make profit if one of these clubs were to secure his services.

There’s no mention of the details of these offers. He has a €20m release clause, while the latest claims have mentioned Sevilla setting a €10m price.

Fiorentina can overtake Nottingham Forest

Over in Italy, TuttoMercatoWeb claims the Serie A side are making a decisive move to win the race for the Spaniard’s services.

To do this, Fiorentina are making a new offer of around €12m with a sell-on clause in Sevilla’s favour.

TMW, who don’t mention other clubs, insists there could be a white smoke this weekend. In other words, the two clubs can reach an agreement for Oso’s transfer.

Nottingham Forest and his other suitors have to act quickly if they wish to sign him this summer.
