The Prime Minister of Norway provides yet another Leeds United link ahead of Saturday night’s World Cup quarter-final against England.
Erling Haaland is not the only Norway leader with Leeds United in his heart ahead of Saturday night’s World Cup quarter-final against England.
Norway face Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions for a place in the World Cup semi-finals tonight in a 10pm kick-off in Miami, ahead of which Norway’s links to Leeds spread far and wide.
Norway star Erling Haaland’s support for Leeds is well documented and the club has a huge following in Norway and Scandinavia as a whole, stemming back to the glory days under Don Revie.
Indeed, even the country’s Prime Minster Jonas Gahr Store is known to be a Whites supporter, as was highlighted in a recent meeting with former PM Keir Starmer.
Store met with Starmer last year to discuss strengthening the country’s partnership with Norway and working with allies to deliver national and economic security for British people.
Highlighting the clear global reach of the Whites - the PM of Norway said “We welcome British troops training in Norway in the winter conditions. Then we have a few other interests. Keir was just congratulating me. Leeds United has made it to the Premier League after one year.”
Starmer replied with: “So I have to say again, congratulations to Leeds on getting promoted.”
Store’s support for Leeds has also previously been shared on his Instagram page, notably with a picture of himself stood in front of five Leeds United flags on a house wall in Norway.
