World Cup player has ‘caught the eye’ of Aston Villa – Villans have ‘sought information’ from agents

**Mexico winger Julián Quiñones has ‘caught the eye’ of Aston Villa with his performances at the World Cup.**

[Sky Sports Switzerland,](https://www.sky-sport.ch/fr/articles/exclusif-aston-villa-charme-par-la-coupe-du-monde-de-julian-quinones/) and journalist Sacha Tavolieri, report that Aston Vill a have put the Al-Qadsiah forward on their list.

**Aston Villa take notice**

---------------------------

They report that after putting in some impressive performances at the World Cup, Julián Quiñones has caught Aston Villa’s eye.

According to Sky’s sources, the Villans management have been recommended the 29-year-old via their scouts. They’ve been in attendance at the World Cup this summer and have taken the advantage of the competition to watch the forward closely.

Impressed by his performances, Unai Emery’s side have ‘sought information’ from the player’s entourage in order to assess the feasibility of a potential transfer.

Those contacts have recently intensified. That is seen as a clear reflection of Aston Villa’s growing interest in Quiñones this summer.

At this stage, though, no formal offer has been made. But there is a feeling that could develop in the coming weeks. There is no mention of an asking price at this moment in time.

**Chelsea already keen**

------------------------

But Aston Villa could face competition from the Premier League for the Mexican. [Sport Witness covered a report](https://sportwitness.co.uk/chelsea-submit-offer-for-37-goal-star-blues-attempt-for-surprise-signing/) this week explaining that Chelsea are also interested in Julián Quiñones this summer.

That report explained that Chelsea had made the Mexico forward a surprise target and already made an offer for him.

Al-Qadsiah, for their part, are not concerned about the growing interest. They have Quiñones tied down to a deal until 2029 and consider him a key player for their project moving forwards. They are currently refusing to sanction a move.

But it appears that the interest in the Premier League is growing. Chelsea were at the front of the queue, now Aston Villa are also in the mix. Whether that now turns the 29-year-old’s head, remains to be seen.
