Celtic have been credited with interest in a Hull City-linked Manchester United goalkeeper

Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Hull City-linked goalkeeper Radek Vitek from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan in the Championship, playing a starring role between the sticks for Bristol City.

His exploits with the Robins sent his stock soaring, although a first-team breakthrough at Old Trafford does not year appear to be on the cards.

Celtic credited with interest in Hull City-linked goalkeeper

According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Scottish giants Celtic are interested in getting the goalkeeper on board.

Posting on X, O’Rourke said: “Celtic are interested in Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek after he impressed on loan at Bristol City last season.”

Pandur would arguably be an exciting signing for the Tigers, although he looks set to attract plenty of interest over the course of the summer window.

Radek Vitek verdict

In May, when asked about Vitek’s future, Czech Republic legend Petr Cech told BBC Sport: "It's important to play. Of course, there are situations where sometimes you know that you have a big chance to come back and fight for your position. That's a different thing.

"But as it stands at [Manchester] United, [Senne] Lammens has done really well. I'm sure he will want to go somewhere and continue playing.

"It's great to see him progress because playing for the Under-21s with United is one thing, but then he played men's football in Austria, which went really well for him, then he came back to England with Bristol City and did well there.

"That obviously gives him an opportunity to attract even attention from teams in the Premier League. I met him a couple of years ago, when we had a training session and talked about things. I could see he's got the hunger and the willingness to get better."
