Coventry City confirm first fresh summer transfer as winger 'so excited' to complete Burnley…

Coventry City have confirmed the arrival of Loum Tchaouna from newly relegated Burnley.

The 22-year-old has signed a five year deal with the Sky Blues who have secured the player's services for an "undisclosed" fee, reported to be a package worth up to £20million.

He becomes Frank Lampard's first fresh signing of the summer transfer window following last month's confirmation of Frank Onyeka's permanent move from Brentford, in line with his half-season loan deal with an obligation to buy subject to promotion.

On joining the Sky Blues, Tchaouna said: “I’m so excited to start this new season in the Premier League, I’m feeling good and ready for the challenge.

“I was at Burnley last season in the Premier League, which was incredible. I’m going to bring my energy, determination, and leadership to the team. I’ve played in Ligue 1, Serie A and now I’m playing in the Premier League, the best league in the world, so I have a lot of experience for my young age.

“I’m so excited to play at the Coventry Building Society Arena and I can’t wait for the new season."

The right winger made 32 appearances and scored three times in all competitions for the Clarets during the 2025-26 campaign.

He arrives with plenty of top-flight experience. On top of his campaign in the Premier League, he spent two seasons in Serie A with Salernitana and S.S Lazio, respectively.

Tchaouna also has experience in Ligue 1 where he made his senior debut at the age of 17 for Rennes.

A loan spell at Dijon followed in Ligue 2 before he had made his move to Italy on a permanent deal and enjoyed his most fruitful season to date as he registered six goals and three assists in 35 matches for Salernitana.

The 2024-25 season saw Tchaouna play in his first European campaign after moving to Lazio. He featured 11 times in the Europa League and scored the opening goal in an impressive 3-1 victory away at Ajax.

Elsewhere, he’s been capped for France from Under 16s through to Under 21s and helped France U21s reach the semi-finals of the 2025 UEFA European Under 21 Championship.
