It was a tentative start to the season with Coleman intent on bedding in some youngsters as almost two full team’s worth of Sky Blues’ players got onto the pitch with wholesale changes for the second period. The home team also made ten changes at the break. The Sky Blues had to come back from a one goal half-time deficit to draw the game in front of a modest crowd of 1,379 fans including 193 intrepid CCFC fans.
