Luciano Spalletti believed that when he returned from his holiday to prepare for the new season, Juventus would have strengthened his squad with at least a new top-level striker and a goalkeeper.
However, he has returned early to discover that the club have not completed a move for Randal Kolo Muani and they still do not have a new goalkeeper to replace Michele di Gregorio.
Juventus continue transfer planning
This means Spalletti will spend the next few weeks working with some players who are not part of his plans and could leave before the transfer window closes. The situation leaves the manager waiting for further changes before he can fully shape his squad.
Juventus are working hard to complete signings, but clubs are aware of their need for reinforcements. As a result, the Old Lady is being careful not to allow other teams to take advantage of their situation during negotiations.
There are several quality players on Juventus’ radar, and the club expects to complete moves for some of them in the coming weeks. However, they do not want to make rushed decisions that could affect their long-term plans.
Carnevali explains Juventus’ approach
The club’s CEO, Giovanni Carnevali, has now addressed their slower transfer activity and explained why Juventus are taking their time. He said via La Gazzetta dello Sport:
“We have various negotiations underway, and we have time because we have to think, reflect, and do things without being caught up in the frenzy.”
Adding: “We’re doing a lot of evaluations because there are opportunities today, but it’s also a difficult market because you just have to look into it or start thinking about some players, and there are very, very high figures. We need to have some time and be a little more realistic with what we can do from an economic standpoint.”
Juventus understand the importance of improving Spalletti’s squad, but they also want to maintain control of their spending. The club believes careful decisions are necessary in a difficult market where player prices can become extremely high.
As the transfer window continues, Juventus will keep evaluating their options while looking for the right additions. Spalletti will hope the club can complete the required deals soon and provide him with the squad needed for the new season.
