Wigan Athletic academy product Kyle Joseph has joined Middlesbrough from Premier League new-boys Hull City for a fee of around £5million.
The Tigers beat the Teessiders in the Championship play-off final a couple of months ago - a match Joseph missed after getting injured in the semi-final victory over Millwall.

But while his Hull team-mates - including Charlie Hughes - ready themselves for a crack at the big time, Joseph has joined Boro to hopefully help them go one better next term.
“I’m so delighted to sign for this massive club," said Joseph, who has signed a four-year deal at the Riverside.
"It’s such an ambitious club and I really want to help it achieve its goals.
"I’m an all-action centre forward, but most importantly, I want to score goals and help the team win games.”
Joseph came through the ranks at Wigan before being sold to Swansea City in the summer of 2021, shortly after the club emerged out of administration.
He scored five times in 20 appearances during his solitary season for Latics – including a match-winning hat-trick at Burton Albion that helped the club avoid relegation.
Shaun Maloney was desperate to bring him back to Wigan in the summer of 2023 - a move the player was understood to be keen on - only to be beaten to the punch by Blackpool.
After 18 months with the Seasiders, Joseph was sold to Hull for £2.5million, and he doubled his value again during his 18 months with the Tigers.
"A valued member of the Tigers’ play-off-winning side, the hardworking 24-year-old made 65 appearances in black and amber after signing from Blackpool in January 2025," read a Hull statement.
"All eight of his goals and five assists came during last season’s Championship promotion success, with his maiden effort coming away to Bristol City in August.
"The tireless frontman netted important goals in victories over Southampton – both home and away - Portsmouth, Wrexham, Millwall – a clinical brace – and Sheffield Wednesday, his final City strike.
"We would like to thank Kyle for his effort, dedication and contribution to our promotion campaign, and wish him all the best for the future."
