Newcastle United's players will return to pre-season training at the newly named KNOX hydration centre on Monday morning as Eddie Howe begins his side's preparations ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Magpies squad will report to Benton on Monday morning and go through all of the standard testing at the start of the summer ahead of a season of change on Tyneside.

Eight players from last season's squad have left the club since their 2-0 defeat to Fulham in their final game of the 2025/26 Premier League season back in May, with Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali joining Barcelona and Tottenham respectively in big-money deals.

Kieran Trippier, Emil Krafth, Matt Targett, John Ruddy and Max Thompson all left the club on free transfers, while Aaron Ramsdale returned to Southampton at the end of his loan spell.

It means there will be a new feel to the Newcastle squad ahead of the new season, particularly with three new signings this summer already through the door.

Goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen joined the club from Stade Reims last month, while winger Bazoumana Toure and midfielder Sean Steur have joined the club in July, too.

Jaouen and Steur will be among the players who will be present on the first day of pre-season but Toure will be given some extended time off due to his participation in the World Cup with Ivory Coast.

So, too, will Nick Woltemade, Malick Thiaw, Yoane Wissa, Anthony Elanga and Bruno Guimaraes, while Dan Burn will be the last player to return to the pre-season fold due to his continued involvement in the competition with England.

Tino Livramento and Lewis Miley are not expected to take part in the opening training session as they continue their recovery from injury but every other first team member is expected to be there and they could be supplemented by some of the club's most talented young players.

Newcastle begin their pre-season fixtures with a behind closed doors match against Darlington next weekend before they face trips to Gateshead and Bristol City.

Howe's side will then fly out to Spain for a week-long training camp in La Manga which will culminate in a friendly clash against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium.

United will then travel to Edinburgh to take on Everton at Murrayfield before returning to St James' Park to round off their pre-season schedule with a double header of matches against Bayer Leverkusen and Strasbourg.
