A Leeds United Academy forward has signed his first professional contract.
Leeds United Academy forward Jacob Render has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Render, 18, made nine appearances for United’s under-21s last season and scored in the 3-0 National League Cup victory over Gateshead.
The teenager bagged more experience of senior football with a start against Accrington Stanley in the Vertu Trophy and the teenager has now penned terms on a one-year pro deal.
A statement from Leeds United read: “Leeds United are pleased to announce Academy forward Jacob Render has signed a first professional contract with the club.
‘Versatile attacker, capable of playing across the front line and in midfield’
“The 18-year-old’s one-year deal will see him continue his development at Thorp Arch throughout the upcoming season.
“Across all competitions, Render made 17 appearances last term which included nine outings for Scott Gardner’s Under-21s.
“The versatile attacker, capable of playing across the front line and in midfield, got a taste of senior football, notably netting in the 3-0 National League Cup victory over Gateshead and starting against Sky Bet League Two outfit Accrington Stanley in the Vertu Trophy.
“Everyone at Leeds United would like to congratulate Jacob and we look forward to seeing his continued development within the Academy.”
