Every summer brings its little kit-leak dramas. A billboard has appeared out in the wild – shared on X by @LD1878 – seemingly showing the new Everton away shirt for 2026/27, complete with an “on sale now” tagline pointing supporters straight to the club shop. There’s just one problem: Everton haven’t actually unveiled it yet.
What the billboard shows
The advert – mounted on a graffiti-topped brick wall and about as official-looking as these things get – carries the Everton crest, the Castore wing mark, the wording “AWAY 2026/27,” and the tell-tale line “ON SALE NOW AT STORE.EVERTONFC.COM.”
And the shirt itself? A clean, predominantly white design with navy trim, finished off with the new sponsor CMC Markets logo across the chest – the front-of-shirt sponsor that only officially replaced Stake earlier this month.
A case of the ad agency jumping the gun?
So why are we seeing the new Everton kit on a wall rather than on the club’s own channels? The strong suspicion is that this is a case of an advertising agency – or whoever handles Everton’s out-of-home media – jumping the gun. That “on sale now” call to action is the giveaway: campaign creative like this is loaded and scheduled well in advance, and it looks very much like this placement went live before the official reveal was due to drop. In other words, the cat’s out of the bag a little earlier than the marketing calendar intended.
What you’re making of it
Over on our Facebook page, the early verdict has split down the usual lines. Plenty like the cut of it – Dean Thomas kept it short and sweet with “I quite like that,” while Philip Malone reckoned it’s “lovely if real, once again away miles better than home” – a familiar refrain from Blues who’ve often preferred our travelling colours to the home shirt in recent years.
Not everyone’s sold, mind. Damian Scott spoke for the sceptics: “If true, another bland and uninspiring effort from Castore. I suppose this another year skipped with no jersey purchases.” Whether it’s understated-and-classy or plain-and-safe seems to depend entirely on which side of the Castore debate you sit.
So, is this Everton’s new away kit?
For now, the usual health warning applies. Until Everton make it official, treat this as a very well-dressed leak rather than gospel – though when the advertising is this polished and it’s already pointing fans to the club shop, it’s hard to imagine there’s much left to hide.
So, Blues — is this the Everton away shirt you’ll be wearing on the road next season? A tidy white-and-navy number with the new sponsor in place looks a safe, smart bet. But we want to hear from you: hit or miss? Let us know in the forum.
