West Ham United and Hull City could be set to do battle in the race for a World Cup star.
The Hammers are looking to improve their squad ahead of their upcoming Championship campaign, where the main aim will undoubtedly be to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Nuno may be able to splash the cash too, with a whopping £85m being raised through the sale of Mateus Fernandes to rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Fernandes' departure leaves a gaping hole in the middle of the park though, which means it will be important for the Hammers to sign a new central midfielder.
Hull, on the other hand, have swapped divisions with the Irons, courtesy of the dramatic 1-0 play-off final victory against Middlesbrough, and need to strengthen ahead of a return to the top flight.

Why Patrick Berg could be a solid replacement for Mateus Fernandes
Last season, Fernandes often impressed from an attacking point of view, picking up three goals and four assists in 35 league games, while also creating 37 chances, the second-highest number in the squad.
There are indications Berg could be a similar type of player, considering he is impressive going forward, chipping in with 45 goals and 53 assists in 349 matches for Bodo/Glimt. Brazilian goalkeeper Ricardo Friedrich has also lauded the maestro as one of Norway's "standout" players.
However, the Norway star is a well-rounded midfielder, as evidenced by the fact he also flourishes defensively, having averaged 1.2 interceptions per 90 in the Eliteserien this season, the third-highest number in the Bodo/Glimt squad.
A seasoned international, who has collected 49 caps for Norway, Berg has all the attributes to be a real statement signing for West Ham in the Championship, but Hull could have the edge in the race for his signature, having been promoted to the Premier League.
