Southampton are closing in on their fourth signing of the summer transfer window as Tonda Eckert's side prepare to fend off competition elsewhere for one of the most coveted talents in the EFL ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The Saints have agreed a deal to sign Lewis Dobbin from Aston Villa, with the versatile winger having represented a hot property in this summer's window after impressing on loan at Preston North End last time out.
That's according to a new update from Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic, who has reported that the Saints are poised to land Dobbin's signature for a £9 million outlay following previous links to a number of second-tier sides including Wolves.
The 23-year-old is now set to sign for Southampton and will undertake medical proceedings today in order to finalise his switch to the south coast.
