Hull City are hoping to be in a position to confirm their new sporting director in the next 48 hours, as discussions continue with Okan Özkan, Hull Live understands.
City have been without somebody in that position for the past week after Jared Dublin's sudden departure last Monday, with the American sacked by owner Acun Ilicali.
The Tigers have been in talks with Ozkan, who had been working at Polish club Pogoń Szczecin, with their Canadian owner Alex Haditaghi becoming embroiled in a social media spat with Ilicali.
Haditaghi threatened legal action over City's approach for Ozkan, in a succession of rants on X, formerly Twitter, whilst copying in the Football Association and Premier League.

Since Dublin's departure, which brought an end to his two-year spell in East Yorkshire, Ilicali, vice-chairman Mustapha Yokes and head of recruitment, Martin Hodge, have been heading up discussions.
Those discussions have seen City make significant progress in the past few days, with the Tigers signing Oscar Zambrano from sister club Maribor, and agreeing a deal to sign Swedish World Cup star Elliot Stroud.
More deals will follow in the coming days, with the Tigers hoping to land another couple of targets before the squad flies out for the first leg of their pre-season trip to Slovenia and then onto Turkey.
Pogoń Szczecin confirmed in a statement last week that Özkan had left the Polish club, destined for the Premier League newboys, but the Tigers are now closing in on an appointment.
Özkan is a former employee of KPMG and Vodafone, and spent seven years working at Fenerbahce, with the past two of those working as the club's assistant sporting director, operating under Jose Mourinho and Jorge Jesus.
