Douglas Luiz has returned to Juventus following loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa last season, with neither club choosing to make the move permanent.
Juventus had hoped one of the two clubs would complete a permanent transfer, as the Brazilian has struggled to establish himself in Turin. His first season with the Bianconeri proved challenging, leading the club to send him out on loan in the hope that regular football would help him rediscover his best form.
Premier League clubs show interest
The loan moves did not produce the desired outcome, despite Luiz returning to the Premier League, where he had previously built his reputation. His performances were not enough to convince either Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa to pursue a permanent agreement, leaving him to return to Juventus ahead of the new campaign.
According to TuttoJuve, Everton and Bournemouth are now considering approaches for the midfielder. The report suggests that both Premier League clubs are assessing the possibility of signing Luiz during the current transfer window as they look to strengthen their squads.
Juventus remain open to a transfer
Juventus would welcome serious interest in Luiz, although the club are also prepared for the possibility that he remains in Turin. Should that happen, Luciano Spalletti will attempt to help the midfielder rebuild his career and make a stronger impact during the upcoming season.
Luiz is regarded as one of the most talented players in the Juventus squad, but there is a belief that he has not yet found a system that allows him to perform at his highest level. If Spalletti’s tactical approach proves better suited to his qualities, the Brazilian could have the opportunity to produce much stronger performances.
At the same time, Juventus remain willing to consider offers if suitable proposals arrive. Whether through a permanent transfer or another loan agreement, the club are open to allowing Luiz to leave this summer if an arrangement can be reached that benefits all parties involved and provides the midfielder with a fresh opportunity.
