Nottingham Forest could soon be boosted by another of their key men putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Centre-back Murillo and goalkeeper Matz Sels have already extended their stays at the City Ground, until 2030 and 2028 respectively. And midfielder Ibrahim Sangare looks set to follow suit.
Advanced talks are taking place and the Ivory Coast international is said to be close to agreeing a new deal with the Reds. According to The Telegraph, he is expected to sign fresh terms to keep him at the club until 2029.

Sangare’s current contract is due to expire in 2028. He was the subject of some transfer speculation earlier this year with Manchester United among the sides reportedly eyeing him up.
The 28-year-old joined Forest from PSV Eindhoven for £30 million in the summer of 2023. Although his first couple of years Trentside were challenging, last season he really showed what he can do.
As the Reds prepare for the start of a new era under recently-appointed head coach Oliver Glasner, it is likely Sangare will be crucial once again. He has developed into a key figure for the club and will be aiming to pick up from where he left off.
In addition to playing well for his club in 2025/26, Sangare was also integral for his country at the World Cup. He played his part as Ivory Coast made it to the last 32 of the tournament before being knocked out by Norway.

Sangare’s importance for Forest this coming season will only increase following the departure of Elliot Anderson. The latter completed a £116m switch to Manchester City earlier this month and will leave a significant void in the centre of the pitch.
Finding a replacement for Anderson is a priority for the Reds as they step up their transfer plans following Glasner’s appointment last week. The England ace had struck up a fine partnership with Sangare and his replacement will need to do the same.
Further positive news on the contract front could be forthcoming for Forest. Talks have taken place with Neco Williams about a new deal amid interest in the full-back from elsewhere, while it was previously suggested midfielder Nicolas Dominguez could be in line for an improved contract.
