Coventry City made contact with two players over weekend – Double bargain deal possible

Coventry City have been linked with a move for AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori and are also keen on another Rossoneri player.

Sport Witness have covered how the defender may have doubts about a move to the Sky Blues. He is weighing up his options and possibly waiting for better offers to land.

Now, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has emerged as a target for Coventry City. He had a frustrating 2025/26 campaign, playing only around 1200 minutes under Max Allegri. He found the net just three times, as Milan missed out on Champions League qualification.

The Englishman now appears to be on his way out, months after being linked with a move to Aston Villa.

There is a chance Frank Lampard’s side can get a bargain deal.

Contact made for signing

Journalist Carlo Pellegatti spoke about Milan’s outgoings on his Youtube channel. He described Tomori and Loftus-Cheek as two candidates who can depart and revealed Coventry City’s contact for their signature.

He said – via MilanNews: “Here, there’s some news from England, there’s some good news from England. Last season, Frank Lampard’s Coventry won the Championship. Well, Frank Lampard knows both Tomori and Loftus-Cheek very well, having had them at Chelsea.

“It seems that the English club made contact with the two players over the weekend to understand the costs, to understand the possibilities.”

Pellegatti also indicated that Milan could grant a discount in the exits of the two players. This is because of their performances.

“Well, I would even offer discounts there, but in these cases, both Loftus-Cheek and Tomori, except for Tomori in the Scudetto year, have not performed as well as expected in recent times.”

Deal could be a big coup

While Tomori may not be keen on the move, the same can’t be said for Loftus-Cheek yet. Because of Lampard’s presence at Coventry City, the midfielder could be tempted into a move and would be a better deal out of the two players.

He is much more experienced in the Premier League than Tomori.

Loftus-Cheek offers goals from midfield and can play in multiple positions. This is clear from his time at Milan but also from his loans at Fulham and Crystal Palace. With Loftus-Cheek’s contract running out in 2027, Coventry City should get a favourable deal.
