Leicester City FA Cup winner Youri Tielemans in advanced talks to complete £35m Manchester…

Former Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans is set to leave Aston Villa and sign for Manchester United in a surprise move.

Tielemans left City in 2023 after four years with the club, where he established himself as a fan favourite. The midfielder's name is set in the history books of the club after scoring the winner in the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

He joined Aston Villa on a free transfer at the end of his contract at Leicester and has been a regular under Unai Emery. The 29-year-old has played 134 times for Villa, helping them qualify for the Champions League and win the Europa League title last term.

Now, he looks set to join Man United in a move that has come out of nowhere. According to The Athletic, Tielemans favours a move to Old Trafford and the two clubs are in advanced talks over the move.

It's understood that Tielemans has a £35m release clause in his contract at Villa Park and personal terms aren't thought to be a problem. Villa, on the other side, look set to land Switzerland international Johan Manzambi after his impressive World Cup.

Villa will make a profit on Tielemans after landing him for nothing. The midfielder rejected a number of contract offers from Leicester and he left the club for nothing, despite United and Arsenal showing strong interest at the time.

Tielemans joins Andrey Santos in joining United to strengthen Michael Carrick’s midfield ahead of their return to the Champions League, with their move for Atalanta’s Ederson now off.
