Hull City man attracts interest from Crawley Town and Grimsby Town with loan deal possible -…

Hull City goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright is reportedly of interest to two EFL clubs

Hull City goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright has reportedly attracted interest from League Two outfits Grimsby Town and Crawley Town.

The 24-year-old has made three senior appearances for the Tigers and with the East Yorkshire club now in the Premier League, further outings in the season ahead appear unlikely.

He has already been loaned out on six occasions, most recently to Hartlepool United, and could seemingly head out again this summer.

According to reporter Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, both Grimsby and Crawley are on the former England youth international’s trail.

Cartwright has already had a temporary stint at Grimsby and is supposedly happy to return, although Crawley are said to be serious about their interest.

A return to Grimsby could hold emotional appeal to Cartwright as not only has he represented the club as a loanee, he started out in their academy before being lured to Hull.

When he joined the Mariners on loan in 2023, Cartwright said: “I’m really happy to be here. It’s an area I know very well and I’ve been a massive fan of the club since I was a kid and this is something I’ve dreamed of from when I was a young fan.

“You never really think you’re going to get to play so now I’m massively proud to come here on loan and have that opportunity.”

Hull’s goalkeeping department currently consists of new arrival Jack Butland, ex-Rotherham United man Dillon Phillis and former Doncaster Rovers loanee Thimothée Lo-Tutala. Ivor Pandur, last season’s number one, has moved north of the border to join Rangers.
