The latest Yorkshire transfer headlines - featuring Leeds United, Barnsley, Sheffield United and more
Clubs are in the early stages of pre-season training but many are in full swing on the recruitment front.
It is shaping up to be a busy summer in Yorkshire and beyond, with plenty of interest being shown and deals being done.
Here are the latest transfer headlines on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Leeds United show interest
Leeds United are interested in signing towering centre-back Tarik Muharemović from Sassuolo.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong 2025/26 campaign in Serie A and followed it up with commanding displays at the World Cup with Bosnia & Herzegovina.
He is among the players to have been looked at by Leeds, although Sunderland and AFC Bournemouth have also been linked.

Barnsley land goalkeeper on loan
The 23-year-old was loaned to Barnet last summer and established himself as the club’s first-choice stopper in League Two.
He has now stepped up to League One level, becoming Barnsley’s third senior signing of the summer.
Slicker said: “After last year, the next step was key for me, and I think this is the perfect step. It’s a massive club with a rich history and that’s what I want. I want to play in front of great fans in a stadium like this.”
Reds head coach Daniel Stendel, meanwhile, said: “We're very happy to bring Cieran to Barnsley. He is a goalkeeper with excellent quality, good experience for his age and a strong mentality. He has worked in top environments and shown his ability during his loan spell last season.”
Sheffield United eye winger
Sheffield United are said to be considering a move for Brann winger Rabbi Matondo.
The 25-year-old, who counts Manchester City and Rangers among his former clubs, faces an uncertain future in Norway just months on from his arrival.
A senior Wales international, Matondo last plied his trade in England as a loanee at Stoke City in 2021.
Sheffield Wednesday-linked goalkeeper liked by rivals
The 24-year-old made eight appearances during a loan spell at Hillsborough last term and there has been talk of a return. However, he has also been reported as a potential target for Plymouth.
Pilgrims boss Cleverley said: “Murphy is a goalkeeper I like, I respect a lot, but for as long as he's not our player and he's contracted to someone else I won't speak in too much detail.”

Hull City goalkeeper attracts admirers
Hull City goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright is thought to be of interest to League Two clubs Grimsby Town and Crawley Town.
The 24-year-old faces stiff competition for minutes in the goalkeeping department at Hull and has already been loaned out on six separate occasions.
A former England youth international, Cartwright has made three senior appearances for the Tigers.
