Hull City's pre-season schedule detailed as Tigers head on European tour

Newly-promoted Hull City have confirmed the first phase of their pre-season schedule as the Tigers gear up for life back in the Premier League, and it involves plenty of travel.

City's players kicked off pre-season training at Cottingham on Monday and will spend the week in familiar surroundings before jetting off to Slovenia for the first time in a break with recent tradition, which has seen them based in Riva at the home of the Turkish FA.

While out in Slovenia at the purpose-built Play Green facility under the watchful Pohorje mountains, just outside Maribor, Sergej Jakirovic's men will play Turkish opposition in the form of Konyaspor at the Aluminij Sports Park, Kidricevo and then Rizespor at Maribor's Ljudski vrt stadium on July 25 and 28th respectively.

On July 29, the Tigers' squad will then fly to Istanbul, where they'll be based at Kasimpasa's impressive training ground, with a game pencilled in against the Super Lig side at their Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadium on August 1.

City played Kasimpasa at their training facility in their final outing of last season's trip to Turkey, with Tyrell Sellars-Fleming scoring a late winner to secure a 1-0 victory over the side then managed by ex-Tigers boss Shota Arveladze.

The following day, Jakirovic's squad will then travel back to Humberside Airport for another week of preparations in the East Yorkshire sunshine.

Jakirovic's men will also take on French Ligue 1 side Nice at the MKM Stadium on August 15, with that date to be confirmed by the club, in what will be their only home friendly this summer ahead of the big kick-off against Manchester United a week later.
