Injury update provided on Real Madrid star

_2_

An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois has come to the fore on Monday. This comes amid the assurance that the goalkeeper is not in line for any kind of extended incoming spell on the sidelines.

Courtois of course set alarm bells sounding in Spain’s capital late last week.

After featuring from the off in Belgium’s World Cup quarter-final showdown with Spain, the former Chelsea man pulled up with what appeared to be a muscular complaint during the 2nd-half.

From here, he was hauled off, before his native Belgium were sent packing from the competition at the hands of Mikel Merino.

Courtois, in turn, reported to Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training base on Monday, to undergo a round of medical tests and scans. And as much, it is understood, ruled out any kind of serious injury.

As per a report from Blancos insider Arancha Rodriguez:

‘Courtois has been at Valdebebas to undergo tests. A serious injury has been ruled out. He will be back after his vacation.’

> Courtois ha estado en Valdebebas para que le hicieran pruebas. Se descarta que haya lesión grave.

> Estará de vuelta después de sus vacaciones.
