Manchester United are ready to splash the cash in their attempt at mounting a serious Premier League title challenge.
The Red Devils go into the 2026/27 season full of optimism having secured their place back in the Champions League after a two-year absence.

And that is in large part thanks to Michael Carrick, who guided the club to third spot following previous finishes of eighth and 15th.
Taking the Mich
Having succeeded Ruben Amorim on an interim deal in January, with United languishing in seventh spot, Carrick won 12 of his 17 Premier League games in charge.
No side picked up more than the 39 points United amassed following the 44-year-old's arrival back at his former stomping ground, with champions Arsenal three points behind.
United's stunning form, which saw them beat Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham, led to Carrick being handed the job on a full-time basis.

Their exploits in the second half of the 2025/26 campaign has led to fans dreaming of a potential first top-flight since 2013.
Even ex-midfielder Paul Pogba, who played alongside Carrick at the Theatre of Dreams, has backed United to 'definitely be champions' in the near future.
It promises to be a busy summer for United, who announced Andrey Santos as their first signing of the window on Monday in a £50million deal from Chelsea.
And he is set to be the first of many, with the Brazilian to be joined by Youri Tielemans with United activating his £35m release clause at Aston Villa.
United could also bolster their defence and attack as they look to fight on all four fronts.
Here, talkSPORT.com takes a look how United could line-up in the upcoming term with five new signings in a huge squad overhaul.

Walls at the back
Senne Lammens will continue his place between the sticks having enjoyed an impressive first year in England following his switch from Royal Antwerp.
Despite his high-profile error resulting in Belgium crashing out of the World Cup to Spain - as well as in the incoming arrival of Karl Darlow - the 24-year-old remains the undisputed No.1.
A centre-back pairing will likely consist of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, with Matthijs de Ligt recovering from back surgery, while youngsters Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven still continue their development.
And there could be changes in both full-back positions, with Newcastle's Lewis Hall seen as the long-term replacement for Luke Shaw.
talkSPORT reported in May how United's director of football Jason Wilcox is a huge admirer of the England international, though the Magpies are determined to keep him at St James' Park.
Diogo Dalot's right-back starting birth could also be under threat, with German news outlet BILD claiming United have held talks with Julian Ryerson's representatives.

The 28-year-old starred at Borussia Dortmund in the previous season - chipping in with 18 assists from 42 games across all competitions.
His fine form saw him named in Norway's World Cup squad, where he made four appearances - starting against Iraq, Senegal, Brazil and England.
Midfield maestros
United made strengthening their midfield a top priority this summer having seen Casemiro depart as a free agent.
Carrick's side were hijacked by Tottenham in the race to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham, while their move for Atalanta's Ederson is currently off as it stands.
But United are set to start a new-look midfield partnership of Santos and Tielemans, with the Belgian set to end his three-year stay at Villa Park.
Kobbie Mainoo would likely have to settle for a spot on the bench and be used in a rotational system.

And Bruno Fernandes will continue in his No.10 role after breaking the Premier League record for most assists in a single season.
The Portuguese playmaker's future was in question amid interest from Saudi Arabia, but it is believed that he will remain at the club.
Forward thinking
United signed a new-look front three last summer in a £200m splurge - bringing in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
Mbeumo will likely be deployed on the right flank, with versatile forward Cunha to potentially lead the line ahead of Sesko, who continues to get to grips with English football.
This opens up a gap on the left wing, with talkSPORT revealing at the start of the month that talks have been opened with West Ham over signing Crysencio Summerville.

It appears unlikely that Summerville, who scored seven goals in all competitions last term, will continue at the London Stadium following the Hammers' relegation to the Championship.
Summerville showed potential suitors what he is capable of at the World Cup in North America - chipping in with two goals and as many assists for the Netherlands from his four outings.
