Manchester City defender Juma Bah’s future at the Premier League side remains uncertain and he won’t have clarity anytime soon.
The centre-back arrived at the Etihad in January 2025 and immediately went out on loan to RC Lens.
Last season, Manchester City let him go out on loan to OGC Nice, where he played 3,130 minutes from 41 matches.
The 20-year-old will return to the English club, where Enzo Maresca has replaced Pep Guardiola.
He hasn’t made his debut for Manchester City since joining the club and spent the last 18 months on loan in France.
Manchester City player has market in France
Jeunes Footeux covers the latest on the Sierra Leone international’s immediate future and why there won’t be a quick decision.
Juma Bah was part of the OGC Nice squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season. They did it by overcoming Ligue 2 side AS Saint-Étienne in the play-off final.
Despite Nice’s struggles, the Manchester City man caught the attention of a few Ligue 1 sides. He is highly sought after, and several French clubs have made approaches for him. This includes Stade Brestois, who like the young defender.
Stade Brestois believe Bah’s profile and his Ligue 1 experience make him an ideal fit for them.
Manchester City delaying decision
Stade Brestois or any other club keen on signing Juma Bah this summer will have to wait, because Manchester City haven’t decided on his future yet.
New manager Enzo Maresca wants to take a closer look at the former Real Valladolid man during pre-season.
This will be key for the Italian to decide whether to include him in his plans next season or sanction a move. If it’s the latter, it will probably be a loan move to France or an English club.
Should Maresca integrate Bah into his plans, the latter may not get regular game time at Manchester City. A loan move could be beneficial at this stage of his career.
The player has a contract until 2031, and Transfermarkt value him at €10m.
