Getafe are close to agreeing a loan deal for Aston Villa right-back Andres Garcia.

The 23-year-old joined Villa from Levante in a £5 million deal in January 2025 but has struggled to earn regular game time under Unai Emery.

Last season, Garcia made just one Premier League start, against Manchester City on the final day of the campaign, but was substituted at half-time.

He also played only 15 minutes during Villa's Europa League campaign and was an unused substitute in 10 of those matches.

Across all competitions, Garcia has made just 18 appearances in 18 months at the club and has been made available for transfer this summer.

He is now expected spend the upcoming season on loan at Getafe, replacing Juan Iglesias, who joined Sevilla after his contract with Los Azulones expired.

Villa have been targeting a new right-back in recent weeks, with Emerson Royal among several players under consideration.

Flamengo are open to a sale and were in contact with Villa over a potential move last month, although it is unclear how advanced those discussions are now.
